Scott Murray - Co-Master of Ceremonies

From the Olympics to the US Open, the World Series to the World Cup, Presidential Inaugurations to 30 straight Super Bowls, Scott Murray has covered them all. For close to a quarter of a century he was the award-winning news Sports Director and Anchor at NBC 5, Dallas/Ft. Worth. Prior to that, Scott was based in Washington, D.C. with NBC television. During his three decades of television sports, Scott was named Sportscaster of the Year 17 times by various news/media organizations such as the Associated Press, United Press International, Dallas Press Club, NATAS, among others. He won back to back Emmy Awards for Best Sportscaster in 2000 and 2001 and was the recipient of the prestigious Silver Circle Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2002.
Although Scott retired from television news in 2003, Scott remains very active in the media world as a published author, Whatever It Takes (Life Lessons Learned through Sports Lessons), a sought-after keynote and motivational speaker, a television commentator and radio talk show host, a commercial spokesperson, and, as Chairman/CEO of his own communications company. Murray Media, founded by Scott and his son, is a full service video/HD production company that provides clients with corporate and instructional videos, non-profit DVD’s, television programs, TV commercials, as well as audio/visual production and staging presentations at corporate, community, and charitable events. Scott is a member of the board of directors of the Lone Star Film Festival and has been a longtime member of the Sigma Delta Chi Journalism Fraternity and AFTRA, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Scott stays very active in the community as a volunteer, serving on the board or advisory board of many civic, charitable and non-profit organizations, including his own “Scott Murray Foundation: Lifting Spirits... Building Dreams.” He was inducted into the Philanthropy World Hall of Fame in 1996; inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa Fraternity (The National Leadership Honor Society) in 1991; and, installed as an honorary member of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers in 1995. Scott’s commitment to community has resulted in his being honored on many occasions with such awards as Man of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, Director’s Award from the FBI and the US Department of Justice, Governor’s Award, George Washington Medal of Honor Freedom Award, Tom Landry Award of Excellence, United Way Hercules Award, Champion for Children Award, Boy Scouts of America God and Service Award, National Youth Leadership Council Gift of Leadership Award, Susan G. Komen Foundation National Individual Community Service Award, and, his two most cherished awards, Dad of the Year & Father of the Year.
Scott serves on the advisory board or board of directors of a number of sports organizations. He is a charter member of the SMU Athletic Forum Board and the Doak Walker National Running Back Award. Scott is on the executive board of the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award and serves as chairman of the O’Brien Legends Award and Founder’s Award Committees. He is on the selection committee of The Lott Trophy, the executive board of the Armed Forces Bowl and the Dallas All Sports Association Board of Directors. In addition, Scott is a charter member of the Texas Motor Speedway’s Children’s Charity Board of Trustees, the Dallas Symphony Board of Governors & the President’s Advisory Council of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. Scott was inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame as an honorary member in 1992.

Tex McDorman - Co-Master of Ceremonies

Tex McDorman is originally from Brownwood Texas. Is married to his high school sweetheart since 1982, they have 2 grown children and 2 grandsons. In 1982 Tex made the decision to join the United States Navy serving the majority of his time based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He served on several overseas deployments during his 10 years of service from the North Atlantic to the Mediterranean. He also served as an instructor at Damneck Naval Base in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 1979 Tex started pinstriping and that has been his passion from the beginning. As an artist and pinstriper at heart he honed his skills while in the Navy. After completing his second enlistment it was time to venture out and start his own business. Tex's Sign Shop was opened in 1991 in Chesapeake, Virginia. From there the business and his talent grew, he started custom painting and TEXEFX was born. After many years away from their home state of Texas Tex and his family made the decision in 2002 to move back. TEXEFX and McDorman Signs & Advertising Inc. are now located in Sanger, Texas. Renowned for his pinstriping and custom paint Tex and his family owned and operated businesses are thriving. With his son Critter as his right hand man and main fabricator the custom paint business has turned into a full custom motorcycle shop, specializing in Harley Davidson and Victory motorcycles. While the custom paint and pinstriping keep Tex busy he is always looking for new adventures, so for the past 4 years Tex has taken his personality to the microphone and been an announcer for Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam and an MC for many other motorsport and charity events. As Tex will tell you on any given day he is "Just living the dream".
